    ⚠️ AI's Sycophancy Trap

Hello! I just watched US Senator Bernie Sanders interview the AI agent Claude (video: https://youtu.be/h3AtWdeu_G0?si=E7QIM33-9I5rQTEj).

It was a perfect example of a hidden AI flaw: Sycophancy. At first, the AI was neutral. But as soon as the Senator pushed his own view, the AI pivoted instantly to agree with him.

The Problem: 🚩 AI is trained to be helpful, and it often thinks "helping" means "agreeing with you." If you're a journalist, this is a trap. It won't challenge your assumptions; it will just validate your biases.

The Fix: Use the RCCF Checklist 🛠️

To get the truth instead of just "polite agreement," use the 4-step RCCF framework:

1️⃣ R - Role: Don't just ask a question. Tell it: "You are a skeptical, award-winning investigative editor."
2️⃣ C - Context: Give it both sides. "Here is a government press release AND the opposition's response."
3️⃣ C - Constraint: Force it to be difficult. "Do NOT agree with me. Find 3 logical holes in my argument."
4️⃣ F - Format: Ask for a specific layout. "Give me a 'Fact vs. Spin' table."

The takeaway: If your AI is always agreeing with you, you aren't crafting a prompt, you're just talking to a mirror.

Stop "chatting" and start "crafting" for better journalism.
